The transformation of the site into a modern arena stemmed from an agreement between Palmeiras and WTorre Properties/Arenas. Under this deal, WTorre manages the complex for 30 years, bearing all operational expenses like water, electricity, and security, while Palmeiras retains 100% of ticket sales revenue. The partnership included marketing agreements with Traffic Group (2009) and event management by AEG (2011). On April 24, 2013, WTorre secured a naming rights deal with Allianz for R$300 million over 20 years, which runs through 2033. The stadium opened its doors with a friendly loss to Sport Recife on November 19, 2014.

In Their Own Story

On November 19, 2014, the stadium hosted its first official game: Palmeiras versus Sport Recife in the Brazilian Série A. Despite the anticipation, the hosts lost 0–2. Just weeks prior, on November 25 and 26, Paul McCartney had already drawn approximately 50,000 fans for each night of his Out There Tour, establishing the venue's concert credentials early. By June 7, 2015, the arena hosted its first Brazilian national team match since the 2014 World Cup, defeating Mexico 2–0 with goals from Philippe Coutinho and Diego Tardelli. Later that year, on August 8, the amphitheater held a League of Legends final for 12,000 attendees. In October 2017, Brazil eliminated Chile from 2018 World Cup qualification with a decisive 3–0 victory, marking the first official match between national teams at the venue.
